PUBLICATIONS OF THE CNGN

FACING THE HEALTH CHALLENGES IN AFRICA is a compendium of the lectures delivered by erudite lecturers at the 3rd English speaking African regional conference held at international women center Abuja.

VOCANON (Voice of the Catholic Nurses Guild of Nigeria) is an annual magazine published to disseminate information on health and other related issues as well as educate and entertain the public.
The guild also proposes to publish the Journal- WAJOHS with a view to bringing to the doorstep of our readers, research-based articles from which they will benefit immensely. It is our hope to accept for publication articles or reviews on health, nursing and other related areas that affect human existence.

SCOPE OF THE JOURNAL

The journal is a biannual publication developed to publishing original research work in all the health and health related areas including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, medical sociology, clinical psychology, nutrition and dietetics, food science, pure sciences (chemistry, molecular biology etc).
The journal is established to provide a ready outlet for publications of original scientific research works carried out in Nigeria or abroad in specified fields of health. Minor articles are published as short communication according to discretion of the editorial board

Instruction for submission of papers
Papers for submission are to be written in clear and concise English, word processed, double spaced on one side of A4 size paper, leaving 2.5cm margin on both sides. It should be organized in the following order; title page and author, abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgment and references. Submitted articles must be original research reports, submitted on the understanding that they have not been published or accepted to be published at the same time to another journal within or outside the country.

Once a paper has been accepted for publication, the manuscript shall attract a charge of N3000 for articles not exceeding 5 printed pages and an additional N500 per page for any extra page. Electronic or diskette copy in MS word will be required for manuscripts found publishable after peer review.

DETAILED ORGANIZATION OF MANUSCRIPT
Title page
This should contain the full title of the article, full names of the author(s) (including names and addresses of the institution, city and country) and a footnote, (usually indicate by an asterisk), including the address to which correspondence should sent.
Abstract
Abstract should provide a structured abstract of not more than 200 words, which should be managed in the order-purpose, methods, results and conclusions.

1. Introduction
Brief introduction of the topic, followed by statement of the problem, aims of the study and the signficance of the study.
Keywords
Authors are to suggest 5-6 keywords that characterize the scope of the article.
2. Review of Literature
Review of literature pertinent to the study and the theoritical frame work (where necessary).
3. Methodology
This comprises design sample, sampling technique and method of data collection.
4. Results
This should be presented in clear and easily readable form using tables and figures (if necessary). Figures, however should not be a duplicate of tables
5. Discussion
This should not be a repetition of the result but should focus on the implications and significance of the results and any conclusion that can be drawn from the experimental results. The discussion may however be combined with the result(s).
Figures and Tables.
These should be prepared in a way that will enable direct photoalleation. Legends should be provided at the top of tables and underneath figures, and should be numbered in Arabic numerals. They must be cited in the text.
Literature
Literature citation in the text should be indicated with numbers in parentheses e.g. (2), in order of citation in the text, and then listed on a separate sheet according to their first appearance in the text.

The names of all authors for each reference should be fully given, followed by the year of publication, the full title of the paper, the abbreviated title of the journal, and the volume (numbers) and page numbers.
Reference to books must state the publishers, place, year of publication, edition, names of editors, (where there is multiple authorship) and page numbers.
